This beautiful coastal route hike starts in the city of Gijón, continues eastward through several viewpoints, Playa de Estaño, and ends in Playa de la Ñora.
How to get there?
Public Transportation
You can easily get to Gijón from the other main cities by bus (ALSA), which usually leaves every 30 minutes from the main bus station and arrives to Gijón within 30 minutes. You can also get there by train (Feve), check the schedule on the company’s website.
Car
Arrive to Gijón and look for parking around the statue “Las Chaponas“

The Route
Once you arrive to Gijón walk to Playa de San Lorenzo and from there eastward until you get to the route’s beginning point. The walk along Playa de San Lorenzo is beautiful and fun by itself so you can stop for some ice cream at Regma or one of the other shops in the area.
From the area of Playa de San Lorenzo you keep walking eastward along the coast. While the road is very clear and easy to follow, at some point you will have to walk through some houses so use the Wikiloc app to follow along.
The first beach you will arrive to is Playa de Estaño which is one of my favorite small beaches. Then, you will finish the route in Playa de la Ñora.
Furthermore, if you do this route in the summer you can have a meal or beer in one of the chiringitos (beach bar/restaurant) at these beaches.
I hope you enjoy this easy-to-access coastal route hike in Gijón and that you were lucky to enjoy a beautiful day 🙂
